Stick Skills, athleticism & a solid understanding of the game are among the most important assets you can possess as a lacrosse player. During our 3 1/2 month INTENSE winter training program we will be concentrating on improving your ability to handle, to generate speed & power and to make the right decisions under pressure. We will isolate and correct bad habits, reinforce proper fundamentals and rebuild a solid foundation while delivering more repetitions than you ever thought was possible in 1hr and 30min. The only requirement is that you come ready to work hard.
In our defensive training program our defenders will learn defensive positioning on ball and field awareness. Strong footwork, fundamentals and a sound understanding of defensive strategy are the most important areas of a defenseman's development. During our 3 1/2 month INTENSE winter training program we will teach the importance of strong fundamentals and footwork through a variety of drills that challenge a players ability to play strong defense at top speed and when physically exhausted. We will also spend a lot of time improving our defensemen's stick skills, team concept, 1on1 defense and how when to use various checks such as the poke, lift, slap and even a few you might not have heard of. Whether your are a close defenseman, long stick midfielder, midfielder or attack, if your goal is to learn how to be a difference maker defensively for your team, you do not want to miss this.
Cascade Statement Regarding Cascade 'R' Helmet and Registration Information
The National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE) has announced that the Cascade R model lacrosse helmet no longer complies with NOCSAE standard ND041 and that Cascade's certification of compliance on that helmet model only is invalid. All other Cascade models in the field are certified (CPX-R, Pro7, CPV-R, CPV, CS-R, CS)
We are working with NOCSAE to clarify the concerns and appropriately address. However, our first priority is always our loyal Cascade players.
Players that are not playing until the season arrives are encouraged to retain their helmet. Cascade is confident that we will be able to recertify the helmet and that recertification could be a simple fix.
We expect to communicate all available remedies as soon as possible, once approved by NOCSAE.
